I'm belatedly posting a review of our 11/25 selection, purchase and installation experience of a combination of Hunter Douglas and Alta blinds for our new house. We are in a new Del Webb community and Michelle Moats was recommended by our Welcome Committee.  We scheduled a consultation with Michelle and another with the Costco contractor. We had no idea how to select blinds for an entire house and Michelle was by far the expert in helping explain the products, various options and the timing involved in having them made and installed. When both estimates came in, we knew we needed to determine our budget before proceeding. Advantage Blinds were our preferred option and Michelle was very willing to come back and work with us to figure out options that worked within our budget, what discounts were available and took considerable time measuring the windows. Honestly, she is one of the best sales women we have ever had the pleasure of working with. Bill arrived on a very icy winter day and installed all the blinds efficiently and professionally. All of the blinds fit and operated perfectly. We highly recommend Advantage Blinds and especially Michelle's expertise in leading customers through a somewhat nerve wrecking process. Michael was patient as I explored all the options sharing some pros and cons  of the various options. In the end, we went with the clean look of Norman blinds and Hunter Douglas honeycomb cellular for added warmth.  I also have two motorized, programmable ones for hard to reach places and they are a wonderful addition.  The arrived quickly and installation was effortless. Michelle (who came out to our home to  show samples and measure), was very kind, patient with questions, and knowledgeable about the products. Her experience and background in interior design is apparent as you speak with her. The 2 installers who came to install my shades were very professional and helpful with any questions I had. The blinds are PERFECT! I have not one complaint. I have only praises. The photo is my dining room window and it’s smaller than my living room window. Look how well the blinds are holding up. They were installed in 2023, which was two years ago. Yes, I am quite late posting my review. I’m in the market for more blinds for two bedrooms and a bathroom. Choose from hundreds of beautiful sheer, semi-sheer, and opaque fabrics, to find the perfect level of light control. In addition, there are many gorgeous patterns and textures to choose from that can fit any room décor.

Top and Bottom Treatments

Customize your roller shades with an array of special top treatments that conceal the fabric roll, like decorative cassettes, valances and modern looking fascia valances. You can also select from several bottom rail options, including square or round fabric-wrapped options.

SCREEN SHADES

Screen shades are effective at reducing UV rays, reducing room temperatures, and protecting your valuable furniture and flooring. They also offer varying degrees of opacity, referred to as “view through”, that allows a significant view to the outside. The greater the “view through”, the greater the view. Screen shades are particularly effective in patios, sunrooms, and offices, where light control is the primary concern.

Fabrics and Textures

Screen shades are available in a wide variety of light colors, dark colors, and decorative weave patterns. The openness of the fabric can vary from 1% to 10%, or more.

Top and Bottom Treatments

Screen shades can be customized with an variety of top treatments that conceal the fabric roll, like decorative cassettes, valances and modern looking fascia valances. You can also select from several bottom rail options to suit your preference.

OPTIONS and BENEFITS

Motorized

With motorization, you can raise or lower a roomful of shades with a press of a button. You can even operate the shades with a tablet or smartphone, and some systems can be programmed according to the schedules you set, even when you are away. Some motorized systems use a wand control where a press of the up or down button on the wand operates the shade.

Cordless Lift

Move the shade to exactly where you want by simply pushing up or pulling down with your hand. Cordless shades are also an excellent option for homes with small children and pets.

Retractable Cord

This option features a single retractable cord or wand which stays at a constant length regardless of the shade position. Without the long, dangling cords, a retractable control system offers enhanced child and pet safety.

Continuous Cord Loop

This system works on the principle of a pulley rotating the roller to raise and lower the shade. The loop is secured via a tensioner which provides enhanced child and pet safety, too.

Dual Roller

Dual roller shades feature two different fabrics that operate independently. Each roller uses a different fabric, which increases the functionality and light control.
